I've got sound going into my pc as midi which is a good step forward. However, the input level/sound volume coming in is not that good. I've got keyboard volume way up, sound card volume way up, windows volume way up and just not getting good sound out. Does that mean I need a mixer?

My set up is a Yamaha P120 keyboard connected by midi cables to a USB Midisport 2x2 which then goes to USB on a Sound Blaster Audigy SE 24 bit sound card into Cakewalk.

Any ideas or input or pointing me in the right direction? I was looking at the links of the two mixers you showed but I don't see how I would connect my midi cables up. I'm a beginner on this type of stuff.

Appreciate any help you could give me on this.

Hey Frankly, thanks for telling me about your blog. Looks great. I'll be checking in periodically because I know you know what you're talking about. Maybe you can help me in my ongoing wrestling match with Cubase, and the search for the Glass Onion bass.

"Sound is the sum;" love it, man. Keep calm, keep cool... and play that damn guitar.

Hi Yolander. Actually yes, a nifty software utility called Antares Auto tune can wrest some of the most wayward warbles in to shape. I'll be covering that at a later date.

I enjoyed you blog! Funny and factual. Thanks for your support.

Can an audio engineer make it sound like I can sing? If so, they are miracle workers!
